Celebrating 25 years of QRRRWN history
In 2018, 25 years of QRRRWN history was celebrated at the QRRRWN annual conference in Kingaroy. This celebration featured a history project, a FRRR funded project led Dr. Cecily Jensen-Clayton, professional sociologist and QRRRWN’s board lead on membership.
This project was a continuation of the important ongoing work of preserving QRRRWN’s history, drawing on historical material that had been gathered, collated and preserved by QRRRWN members over the last 25 years, in particular, Judith Bandidt.
The history project was centred on a series of interviews with past and present QRRRWN women, and featured their stories, wisdom and achievements in a collective video production.
This video mini-series was launched at the QRRRWN 2018 Conference as part of an exhibit featuring memorabilia from the last 25 years.
We invite you to spend time with us, looking at the historical material presented here. The videocasts provide some snapshots of the life of the organisation over 25 years, while listening to the living testimonies and experiences of past presidents and members. The slideshow presentations provide a more in-depth record of significant projects, events, and memorabilia that describe the impact and the evolution of QRRRWN over 25 years – from QRW to QRWN to QRRRWN.
In 2019 we hope to be able to provide more material to further enhance recollections of QRRRWN history.
