As an Accredited Clinical Nutritionist, I have always had an immense passion for nutrition, food, and cooking, to achieve optimal health and wellness.
My goal is to have you say that cooking, eating nourishing foods, (and hence achieving & maintaining your optimal health!) is easy, fun and empowering. And I am here to help you get there.
As a child, I wanted to know the ‘why’ behind the food I was eating, but my real journey into understanding nutrition began when I started competing in triathlons. I wanted to know whether the food I was eating was going to fuel my body and give me the energy needed for triathlon training and competitions.
As my youngest child was nearing the end of her secondary schooling, I took this desire to understand nutrition a step further and began studying the subject full time, graduating with an Advanced Diploma of Nutritional Medicine. It was a challenge, but my appetite to help and educate people about the benefits of eating well nudged me to the finish line.
Through – Nutrition Consultations, 28-Day Nutrition For Life Program, and Group / Individual Cooking Classes I will help you to break down barriers associated with food planning, preparation and cooking so that you become your healthiest self and find a sustainable way of eating, once and for all.
I will show you that wholefoods aren’t bland and boring. They can be made to be exciting and delicious! After all, the enjoyment of food is one of life’s greatest pleasures!

Your Health & Wellbeing
Our Health & Wellbeing is central to each of us reaching our potential and achieving our goals, whether those goals are within our families, communities, business or other pursuits. We know that supporting women with their health and wellbeing is essential to empowering our members to reach their potential.
One of QRRRWN’s objectives is ‘To empower rural, regional and remote women and their communities through the encouragement of personal development and education.’
The goals set by the Board in 2020 seek to achieve the above objective and Key Goal #4:
4. Develop our member value proposition to meet member needs.
Why focus on Health & Wellbeing?
We have continued to hear from our members that they need support in a variety of ways to maintain their health and wellbeing. We are also acutely aware of the unique and difficult pressures that affect rural, regional and remote women from the impacts of drought, severe weather events, isolation, lack of services in many areas. Many of our members play many roles including supporting their family members, working in family businesses, operating their own businesses and playing key roles in their communities – sometimes all at the same time.
We understand the essential role that women play in rural, regional and remote Queensland for their families, the community and the economy. We want to help to look after you. It is our goal to deliver support through lifting you up, sharing knowledge and enabling you to be a member of a group of vibrant and strong women who are familiar with living in RRR Queensland.
Some of the ways QRRRWN delivers training and leadership in the area of Health & Wellbeing to its members has included:
- Key events where workshops and key note speakers present e.g. State Conference
- Workshops and training sessions conducted in rural, regional and remote areas
- Webinar program and library on Health & Wellbeing topics
- Our Member Resources page
- Identifying and communicating with members about educational opportunities that may be near them
- Collaborating with other organisations to deliver educational opportunities that will benefit and support our members
- Securing discounts for members to educational events
- Promoting the Health & Wellbeing interests of QRRRWN members to funding bodies and government.
What role does Networking play?
Combining the QRRRWN Health & Wellbeing Program with building your own contacts within the QRRRWN Network and becoming involved, exposes you to: positive and inspiring role models, you will hear ‘Stories from the Network’ regularly, you will meet a vibrant network of women and share knowledge. We hope that these features of QRRRWN will also inspire you to achieve Health & Wellbeing.

Julie Mayne – Board Member & Membership Portfolio Lead
QRRRWN has held a special role in my life over the last couple of years. It has kept me informed, involved and connected with other likeminded women in our ever changing world. I have worked in the rural industry for 30 years, mostly remotely, as a single mother with two children (now grown and gone). I am a beef breeder and producer situated in central Western Queensland and am slowly expanding my enterprise, and value adding to my business through various creative endeavours.
My skillset is large and varied; a horse trainer, contract musterer, dozer operator, truck driver through to station manager, branded beef marketing and business management, all in a male dominated arena… My strengths are Project Management, visionary and futuristic outlooks for our industry and I consult with various media channels to best promote our rural identity. I have been featured in Graziher magazine, Wander of the West campaign with Edwina Robertson, Channel 7’s Queensland Weekender program and the Queensland Country Life. My story has also been used a brand ambassador for various organisations like RB Sellars, and Ergon Electricity.
I am a passionate advocate, contributor and participant in the rural industry and would love to contribute to this amazing organisation.
