In 2018, QRRRWN delivered a new virtual program in partnership with Forum Queensland. The 10-session program was aimed at developing leadership confidence in RRR women, particularly through practicing good meeting procedure and speaking publicly.
The QRRRWN Virtual Be Confident Forum enabled RRR women to help each other become more confident and effective communicators, in both their professional and personal lives.
The 60 minute sessions ran fortnightly from February to June using the GoToWebinar platform. Participants were guided through the process of running formal meetings in a non-threatening environment during which time spoken presentations on pre-determined topics were delivered and ‘assessed’ in a friendly and supportive way.
Background: Forum is a group who have been in existence for more than 75 years, with branches across Queensland. A member based organisation (mostly women but recently accepting a few men), they exist to develop and practise skills in meeting procedure and public speaking with their catch-phrase: be confident.
