Stories from the QRRRWN Network
Interesting women have always gravitated to QRRRWN and have been a part of our network where we support and inspire one another to reach our potential.
Telling and sharing stories gives a voice to regional, rural and remote women. It helps us celebrate them, connects us, provides role models, inspires and gives hope. The network is central to QRRRWN and it is through sharing stories that we connect with one another and find our tribe which supports us to grow.
Below we share with you some amazing interviews of QRRRWN members, our supporters and ‘Strong Women in Leadership’ award winners and finalists. We believe the stories here will inspire you and draw you into the many possibilities and opportunities that are ahead of you as you pursue your goals, lift up others and overcome any challenges.
Let us lift you up, stay in touch and know our hearts are with you. Please, become a part of our network and the QRRRWN story.
Davida Melksham – QRRRWN 2020 Vice President
QRRRWN Vice President & Board Lead for 2020 QRRRWN Conference – Charleville
QRRRWN vice president Davida Melksham is a busy woman.
She works in the disability services area, works as part of the Tourism team at the Cosmos Centre at Charleville, and amongst the other hats she wears, Davida is organising the QRRRWN 2020 annual Conference in her home town of Charleville.
“The membership of QRRRWN has changed, not all women are on farms, many are involved in small business on the farm, and in the towns or working remotely, reflecting the changing landscape and that diversity is why I pay my membership.”
Davida said the QRRRWN conference in October would be an opportunity for members to gather together once again, network, hear from some great speakers and get to know her part of western Queensland a little better.

Tracey Martin – QRRRWN 2020 President
Over the coming months Robin McConchie will bring us the story behind each of our 2020 QRRRWN Board Members – what inspires them, what drives them and the path that has shaped them.
Meet Tracey Martin – QRRRWN President – Home Hill
Losing her little brother after a freak playground accident highlighted the importance of life, family and making the most of opportunities for QRRRWN President Tracey Martin.
Tracey believes connecting and supporting members across a range of platforms will help build on the QRRRWN strategic objectives of developing the capacity of RRR women to overcome adversity, developing leadership, and participating in decision-making.
Tracey said women play a critical role in the economic sustainability of rural Queensland and will play a vital role in the recovery after one of the toughest periods of drought and fires in living memory.
